Meetings, incentives, conventions and exhibitions (MICE) are high-yield, value-added travel- and tourism-related products. And the MICE sector is getting more competitive by the day.
Asia Pacific destinations have made great strides towards world MICE competitiveness: Many national tourism organisations in the region now have dedicated MICE business units; Asia Pacific carriers’ standards of business class travel have become benchmarks for the global aviation industry; and fantastic, state-of-the-art venues have opened up, catering to everything from small focus group meetings to large global conferences and summits.
Enhancing the competitiveness of our destinations is important for the long-term sustainability of travel and tourism in Asia Pacific. And that includes ensuring that the planning, creative and organisational skills of the region’s MICE executives and managers are at world-class levels.
PATA is a keen supporter of proven executive development programmes. AOS Experiential Education Centre’s Executive MasterClass is an important landmark on the travel education skyline.
I wish you a stimulating and inspiring six days.
